We collect "Non-Personal Information" and "Personal Information." Non-Personal Information includes information that cannot be used to personally identify you, such as anonymous usage data, general demographic information, referring URLs, platform types, and preferences that are generated based on the pages you request and number of clicks. Personal Information includes your email, username and full name.

    When you use our Service as an unregistered user, we do not collect any Personal Information from you. However, to better understand the usage of our Service and provide greater security, we track non-personal information automatically provided to us by your browser when you use our Service, such as: the website you came from (known as the "referring URL"), the type of browser you use, the type of device and operating system from which you connected, the time and date of access, and other information that does not personally identify you.   2. Personal Information You Provide Us:

    In addition to the Non-Personal Information provided automatically by your browser when you visit, if you wish to use Groupidea as a registered user, you must submit your email address, a username, and a password. We use your email to send you notifications about our services. You may also optionally submit your full name, and a profile picture to display in your public profile page. Additionally, if you wish to submit public content (such as quests, ideas, solutions, and images), we may require that you connect your LinkedIn account, authorizing LinkedIn to share some of your personal information with Groupidea (including your full name, email address, headline, location, number of connections, last positions, and picture), and authorizing Groupidea to store that information. In all the cases previously described, you are authorizing us to collect, store and use your email address and other information you provide in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

    Additionally, when you send an email through the AddThis sharing buttons, AddThis uses the Personal Information you provide only to send the email on your behalf and for no other purpose, as stated in AddThis Privacy Policy. Groupidea has no access to Personal Information you send through the AddThis sharing buttons.

  3. Your Public Contributions:

    When you make a contribution to with “Visibility: Public”, you are creating a permanent public record, which can be accessed regardless of whether it is later altered or removed. The "Posts and Edits" sections will show when your contribution or deletion was made, as well as your username or full name and profile picture if you added them to your account. We may use your public contributions, either aggregated with the public contributions of others or individually, to create new features or data-related products for you, or to learn more about how our Service is used.

    Unless this Policy says otherwise, you should assume that public information that you actively contribute to, including personal information that you choose to display on your profile, is publicly visible and can be found by search engines. Like most things on the Internet, anything you share may be copied and redistributed throughout the Internet by other people. Please do not publicly contribute any information that you are uncomfortable making permanently public, like revealing your real name or location in your contributions.

    You should be aware that specific data made public by you or aggregated data that is made public by us can be used by anyone for analysis and to infer information about users, such as which country a user is from, political affiliation, and gender.

  4. Your Private Contributions:

    As indicated in Section 9 of the Groupidea Terms of Use, each member of a private collaboration group must handle content shared in the group according to the rules set by the group’s administrators. Groupidea will maintain user created private content in strict confidence.

2. How We Use And Share Information

  1. Personal Information:

    Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share for marketing purposes your Personal Information with third parties without your consent. We do share Personal Information with vendors who are performing services for Groupidea Inc, such as the servers for our email communications who are provided access to user’s email address for purposes of sending emails from us. Those vendors use your Personal Information only at our direction and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

    In general, the Personal Information you provide to us is used to help us communicate with you. For example, we use Personal Information to contact users in response to questions; to provide technical support; and, to inform users about our services, the content, and user activity on We may contact users by email or through notifications on our Service.

    If you are a registered user, and do not provide your full name, a profile overview, and a profile picture, only your username will be published in your public user profile page, as well as in all the pages that showcase your contributions (including your posts, edits and comments). On the other hand, if you are a registered user, and choose to provide your full name, a profile overview, and/or a profile picture, you authorize us to publish that information in your public profile page, as well as publish your full name and profile picture in all the pages that display your contributions, unless you choose to make those contributions anonymous through the settings of each individual contribution. When you choose to make an anonymous post, comment, or edit, your identity is not revealed to the general public with that specific contribution. However, to manage the website according to Section 11 of Groupidea Terms of Use, Groupidea website administrators may access the account from which the anonymous contribution was made, and view personal information related to that account.

    In general, we use Non-Personal Information to help us improve our Service. We also aggregate Non-Personal Information in order to track trends and analyze use patterns on the Site. This Privacy Policy does not limit in any way our use or disclosure of Non-Personal Information and we reserve the right to use and disclose such Non-Personal Information to our partners, advertisers and other third parties at our discretion.
